DAMAGE TO TRACK.
VALIDITY OF TITLE
MAORIS AND COMPANY.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, Monday. Damage to a track used for bringing out timber resulted in a charge of mischief being brought against three Maoris, Hui Poroaki, Maru Enoka and Thompson Pukei, in the Police Court this morning, but the hearing was adjourned by the magistrate, Mr. S. L. Paterson, when the question of the validity of a title granted by the Native Land Court was introduced. If the validity of any title was in dispute the case would be beyond his jurisdiction, said Mr. Paterson, in adjourning the case until next Monday.
