A Woman's Wit.
Her husband was one of those facetious creatures so peculiarly irritating to a spouse. He introduced his newly-wedded wife to some old friends as "A poor thing, but mine own." Quick as thought she riposted—with a careless wave of her hand towards her husband: "A poorer thing— but mine owner!"
