LUNCHEON CLUB.
A large number of enthusiastic members of the Auckland Women's Luncheon Club met in the reception hall of Milne and Choyce to listen to a talk given by Mr. C. E. Jones, from Christchurch, on "Celebrities I Have Met." The speaker told of his visit to England in 1922, when Lloyd George was Prime Minister.
Referring to the events of the present day, Mr. Jones stressed the immense importance of the action of the younger generation, and hoped that young and old would realise that the throne was but a symbol of the Empire, an achievement of the British race, and that even our city of Auckland was a part of that achievement, the outcome of generations' of loyalty.
