There was a record house at the King's Hall on Saturday night to witness the 15romid contest between Killv Martin of Australia and Xeville Mudgway,' of Waihi. Ihe latter weighed in at 10 1 and h!s opponent at 10.9. The fight went the till distance and the verdict, which was well received by the audience, was in favour of the Australian on points. Waihi being Mudgway's home town, he received an enthusiastic ovation on entering the ring. The contest throughout was marked bv too much clinching, which did not appeal to the crowd. The opening rounds were ot an even and unexciting nature, but things commenced to liven up in the h f V: ,d! T ,y , opt . to hi* opponent and fought pluckily, his strong point being defence, but the Australian was the real aggressor and showed bursts of great speed in attack on several occasions. The fight was by no means a tame affair, and Alartin fully lived up to his reputation as a very fast and aggressive boxer. Both men were very fit.
