CLARRIE RAYNER IN AUCKLAND.
Clarric Ra.vncr, the satuinine featherwciKlit chaiupioii of the Dominion, arrived to-day to train for )iis contest with Young Oriulo, the Mining "Filipino Flash." With two victories over Al. Stock, the battler trom HastinKs, Gildo is now a drawing card of some magnitude, and the contest with the hard-hitting Kayner will be full of thrills. Rayner beat Stock in a thrilling return fight after the "hard rock" had decisioned him in 15 rounds, showing a speed of foot and punch that proved his class. But the smiling Gildo does not worry. Fighting is his business and his pleasure. Rayner holds that he can put a stop to the Filipino's run of victories, and he has a host of followers who are of the same opinion. Aucklanders will have the opportunity of seeing the question settled in a fast and furious bout on Monday next at the Town Hall.
