COMING-OF-AGE PARTIES.

Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Lane, of Hampton Court flats, gave an enjoyable party on Saturday in honour of the twenty-first birthdav of their elder daughter, Miss Helen Harmon.

The function was held in the Kentish Association Club-rooms, of which Mf. Lane is president. The rooms were gay with late summer blooms, and artisticallv decorated.

Enjoyable songs and child impersonations were given by Mrs. W. .T. Lane; monologues by Mrs. F. C. Webster; humorous items by Mr. Dan Flood; and vocal numl>erß by Mr. Fred Walker. Dancing and competitions were an added enjoyment to the evening. The guest of honour was the recipient of many daintv gifts, and received congratulations with musical honours.

Mrs. Lane received the guests wearing a frock of midnight blue taffeta, and Miss Harmon wore ivory satin with diamante relief.

To celebrate her daughter's coming of age, Mrs. Claude Moses, of Selwyn Avenue, St. Helier's, gave a very bright cocktail party on Saturday night. Mies Rosita Mose« welcomed her guests in a charming gown of green taffeta. Among those who were helping to wish her a happy birthday were: Mesdames Harold Moses, E. Lichtenstein, Phillips, C. Robertson, and Misses Betty Moses, Bobbie Marriner, Fay Pascoe, Betty Richwhite, Sybil Stewart, Betty Hodgson, Molly Hyams, Joan Craich, Joan Stuart, Rita Taylor, Joan Hodgson, Betty Coe and Molly Noton.
