DOMAIN GARDEN SETTING.

DELEGATES ENTERTAINED. In brilliant sunshine and surroun<W by the Domain's lovely gardens over a thousand members of the Methodist Church entertained the delegates who are visiting Auckland for the annual Dominion Conference of the Methodist Church of New Zealand. The gardens were looking exquisite with their bright summer flowers, and streamers of hunting added a gay note to the colourful surroundings. The Rev. E. D. Patchett. chairman of the Auckland district, opened the afternoon with a speech of welcome to the visitors, in which he expressed the pleasure of the Auckland members in having this opportunity to entertain representatives from all parts of the Dominion. The president of the conference, the Rev. F. Copeland (New Plymouth) spoke on behalf of the visitors, and expressed their appreciation of the hospitality extended to them. Afternoon tea and ices wera served from large marquees run by members of the Young Women's Bible Class Union and the Young Men's Bible Claws Union. The committee who organised the function comprised Miss G. Hewson, Mr. L. E. Rhodes, Mr. F. Penn, Mr. G. Hoggett, and Mr, A. D. Whitehead.
