HOSPITAL BOARD.
HONOUR FOR SECRETARY. RECOGNITION OF WORK. The secretary of the Auckland Hospital Board, Mr. H. A. Sommerville, M.8.E., was congratulated in a motion passed at a meeting of the board on Tuesday. The chairman, the Rev. W. C. Wood, mentioned that the board might claim a share of the glory as the honour gave recognition to the work of the board's staff.
Mr. E. H. Potter said that it was creditable that the Government had at least recognised the work accomplished. In the past such distinctions had not been conferred. Mr. Sommerville afeo expressed his belief that the honour was intended as a recognition of .the work of the board. It was decided to congratulate Mr. R. Brown and Mr. W. S. Wharton, secretaries of the Wellington and North Canterbury hospital boards respectively, who were similarly honoured.
