BRITISH VIEW DISCOUNTS.
British Official Wireless. j I i (Received 12.30 p.m.) RUGBY, January 8. Reproduction in English newspapers of recent comment appearing in the German Press regarding alleged conditions in Czechoslovakia has caused both surprise and. misgiving. Extracts from German newspapers contain highly-coloured accounts of extensive Russian influence in the Czech State and repetitions of rumours which , more tl an once have been authoritatively j denied in Prague. " i The character of the information used in the German Press comment is so far at variance with the facts of tho Czech situation as they are accepted in ' this country and generally throughout' Europe, and the publicity given the j German remarks in neighbouring! friendly States has created a most j unhappy impression on the English' mind. , ! ,
Inquiries in authoritative British quarters elicited a statement that the views cited from the German Press were not in accordance with those held among well-informed observers in London.
