LIBRARY HOURS.
Correspondents in your valuable publication complained about the closing of the Central Library on certain holidavs. such as when a new King is proclaimed, etc. This to my mind is a very selfish attitude to adopt. ■\oiir correspondents should remember that the staff are just as much entitled to show their loyalty to a new King and Queen, and to Christmas and New Year's Day with their families and friends as any other public servant. Surely the few days in a year that this library is closed is no inconvenience, nor irksome, to the majority of the public who use it, so why make a fuss and endeavour to deprive these deserving, civil and efficient servants of a little and well-earned relaxation?
