DOGS AND HEDGEHOGS.
It was with distress that I read a letter in the "Star" of Tuesday, November 24 by one who signs himself "Fox Terrier." While your correspondent appears to be quite proud of the fact that his dog can kill such a harmless little animal as the hedgehog, I wish to say that it is neither an uncommon nor a very brave feat. Personally I think that dogs of this kind should be introduced to the tin hare. After "Fox Terrier" has witnessed such an unequal battle I wonder if he ever looks at the poor little victim and thinks "Another life has burned away and the world is still no better off." I wish £o emphasise the fact that this letter is not calculated to hurt my friend's feeliugs, but to intercede, in the future, for the lives of these unfortunate little animals. FRIEND TO THE WEAK.
