FASHION DESIGNER.
DEATH IN SYDNEY.
Advice was received in Auckland yesterday of the death in Sydney of Airs. James C. Bancks, wife of the originator of the famous "Ginger Alc<Tors" and eldest daughter of Air. E. J. fait managing director of J. C. Williamson, Limited, and Airs. Tait. Airs. Bancks was also a prominent fashion designer and writer of fashion articles, and for several years was fashion adviser to the J. C. Williamson productions. Her reputation as a brilliant designer and versatile writer was nation-wide. She was also an enthusiastic worker in the cause of the free kindergartens in Sydney, and was a member of the Council of the Kindergarten Union of New Soutli Wales, to which work she gave hours of personal service each week.
