RACEGOERS' ESCAPE.
TAXI CAB DESTROYED. (By Telegraph—Own Correspondent.) TE AROHA, this day. A seven-seater taxi owned by Mr. Frank Verner, of Te Awamutu, when returning from the Paeroa races late last evening, swerved off the bitumen road at Mangaiti and crashed int6 a telegraph pole, which broke in two.. The taxi overturned, caught lire and was destroyed.
The passengers and the driver escaped injury and were taken to' Te Aroha in passing cars. »
