THEFTS AT WHANGAREI.
| CLOTHES TAKEN FROM LINE. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) . WHANGAREI, this day. . A" thief over the week-end entered one house in Whangarei and removed clothes which were left on a line in the back yard of another. The home of the Rev. O. Burnett, in Bank Street, was entered white the .household was at church on Sunday evening. The thief made his entry through the kitchen window. He removed 0/ in cash from a bedroom, and also took an initialled gold bangle. The house was not otherwise disturbed. The clothes lines which claimed attention were in tbe rear of Mr. T. Kendall's home in • Wallace Street. thief made his call on Saturday night: A few bedclothes, including a couple of sheets valued at £2 4/6, were stolen.
