AUCKLAND CLUB. Tile second annual contest from Panmure to Mercer and back, 65 miles for the Lowndes' Cup, was decided by the Auckland Cycle Club on Saturday. Overhead conditions were fine, but a cold wind made the race a hard one. A fine field of 33 started at the bottom of the deviation. Result:— L. ThonKis (ser), 2h CSm 18s 1 A. Mnckrell (15.0), 31i 16m 9s 2 N. Healev (12.0), 3h 13m ISs 3 S. Fussell (22.30), 3h 24m 20s 4 The winner also gained time honours. Fourteen started in the junior race of ten miles. Cunningham, the winner, led all the way to eventually win by 2s from the fast-finishing Hills, Fletcher and Neelham, the latter riders finishing in that order. Result:— I>. Cunningham (3.15), 32.30 1 D. Hills (40s) 2 XI. Fletcher (40s) 3 J. Xeedham {40s) 4 D. Hills (40s) recorded fastest time, 28.57. GLOUCESTER CLUB. The Gloucester CSuh's 22 : m11e race for the Bicknell Cup resulted as follows :— K. Shearing (7.0), 75.13 1 J. Sheehan (7.30), 75.43 2 Fastest time was made by thr winner.
