PAPAKURA PRESBYTERIANS. Mr. .7. It. Wilson presided over n good attendance at tlie annual meeting of tlie I'apakura Presbyterian Lawn Tennis Club. Officers :—Patron, Mr. E. D. Yule ; vice-captain, Miss N. Wilson : secretary, Miss Jean Beggs ; treasurer, Miss Brown: general committee, Mrs. Fred Murray, Mr. L. K. Garllck, and officers cxofHcio; grounds committee, Kev. Yule, Messrs. Kidd, J. K. Wilson, L. Uarlick and L. Cooper. TAKANINI KINGFISHER CLUB. Tlie opening ceremony of the Takanini Kinglisher Tennis Club was held 011 Saturday last. Mr. P. P. A. Wilson, the president, addressed a large gathering of members, wishing them a successful season. Mrs. Wilson drove the first ball over the net, and declared the season open. A Yankee tournament was held, the winners being K. Ferguson and Mrs. S. Lawless. ST. JOSEPH'S CLUB. At the social opening of St. Joseph's Tennis Club at Otahuhu on Saturday afternoon. Kev. Father Duffy welcomed the visitors, and declared, the courts open. Included in the large assemblage were representatives from Mount Richmond, Otahuhu, Otahuhu Railway, Passenger Transport, I'apatoetoe, Northcote, Ho wick, St. Mary's (Onehunga), Mangonui, Kaitaia and Mamaku Clubs. The secretary, Mr. Alfred Halworth, reported an increase in membership. WEST END OPENING. The official opening .of the West End Lawn Tennis Club was held on Saturday iii beautiful weather. A large attendance of members, friends and visitors from other clubs made the occasion very enjoyable. Mr. S. Albert, president, and Mr. H. Clay, president of the Auckland Lawn Te.nn's Association, spoke, and the ceremony of declaring the courts open for 1936-7 season was performed by Mr. J. Donald, representing the City Council.
