M.C.C. TEAM.

CAPTAIN'S VIEWS.

Keen and Enthusiastic 1 Side.

HIGH PLAYING STANDARD. United Press Association. —Copyright. (Received 10 a.m.) LONDON, August 31. The captain of the M.C.C. team to visit Australia, G. 0. Allen, said in an interview with the Australian Associated Press that fie was looking forward to the trip immensely, as indeed every member of the team was.

"They are a young, keen side, full of enthusiasm," lie said. "I believe tliey will do much better than the pessimists of this country seem to think. Anyhow, they will play interesting and good cricket.

"It may take a little time for some of the players to become acclimatised. Whether the bowling proves strong enough remains to be seen, but I am certain the batting will be good and the fielding of the highest standard.
