SEQUEL TO COLLISION.
TWO MOTORISTS TO PAY FINES Arising out of a collision at the corner of Atkinson Avenue and Princes Street. T. Pointon (Mr. Wallace) was charged with dangerous driving at the Otahuhu Police Court yesterday, and Percy Smith (Mr. Holmden) with failing to give way to traffic on the, right. The two vehicles had collided, and Pointon's car, which *.vas coming up Atkinson Avenue, had " turned completely over and come to rest facing in the opposite direction from i that 'in which it had been travelling. After hearing evidence Mr. Hunt I remarked that both were to blame, and : that while the oblivion was on Smith i to obser the right-hand rule Pointon ■ had been t? a veiling too fast. They were - fined £1 each, plus costs £1 3/ for ; Smith and £11/ for Pointon. • A plea for the reduction of the charge 1 against Pointon to one of driving at a ' greater speed than allowed by legula- ; tion was unsuccessful.
