TRAIN STRIKES CAR.
MOTOR VAN AT CROSSING. When a train was nearly upon him at the Jude Street crossing at Avondale about 5.53 last evening, a van driver, Mr. Mark Borieh, managed to stop his van just on the edge of the railway track. The train tore off a front wheel from the van as it passed, but the van suffered little other damage. The only occupant, Mr. Boricli, who owns the van, was not injured.
The train left Auckland for Waitakere at 5.22 j).111., and was delayed for nine minutes as a result of the accident.
