PLAYING AREA.
OLD PARNELL SCHOOL SITE,
GIFT TO THE CITY.
The offer of the Minister of Education, the Hon. P. Eraser, to make a gift to Auckland of the site of the old Parnell school as a playing area for children was announced by the Mayor, Mr. Ernest Davis, at the "Auckland City Council last evening. The Minister made the offer when interviewed by the Mayor, together with the Hon. F. E. Lark, M.L.C., and Mr. W. T. Anderton.
The May6r, in a report, stated that he had asked the city engineer to make a report. Pie proposed to inspect the site with members of the town planning committee. The city valuer's estimate of the capital value was £81315.
