NEW HALL.
TRAINING COLLEGE. ASSEMBLY PURPOSES. BUIIjDING- TO COST £7000. As the outcome of representations made by Mr. W. T. Anderton, M.P. for Eden, an assembly hall is to be built at the Auckland Teachers' Training College at a cost of approximately £7000. Tenders will be called shortly for the work. The new hall will be reached by the main passage way which leads into the college and will be designed to accommodate between 400 and 500 people. There will be a gallery at the back of it, and a large stage at the other end. The new structure will harmonise with the main building, and supply a long felt want at the college. For a long time past the college has suffered from the disability of having no place suitable for assembly purposes. The new building will also be useful for college functions.
