WEATHER FORECAST.
FOB CITY AND PROVINCE. The Government Meteorologist issued to the "Auckland Star" this afternoon the following special weather forecast for the Auckland Province to as far south as i Tauranga, Kawhia and Hamilton:—
"Moderate to strong north-west to westerly winds, still reaching gale force at times in more exposed positions, and later backing temporarily to the southwest. Weather changeable and with showers at times in most places. Temperatures mild. Seas rather rough to rough on the west coast and moderate to rather rough on the east.
The series of intense westerly depressions continues to advance across the south Tasman Sea and the southern portion of the Dominion, but pressure has now risen somewhat over eastern Australia. For the Dominion. For 24 hours from D a.m. this day:— Moderate to strong westerly winds, increasing to gale force at times in exposed positions, later backing in places to south-westerly. The weather will probably prove squally and changeable with passing showers. Barometer unsteady with a rising tendency. Seas smooth to moderate. Hauraki Gulf Conditions. The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf was received from Tiritiri Island at noon to-day:—
Wind, north-west, fresh; sea, smooth; wpather, fine but cloudy; visibility, fair; ba.-ometer,. steady.
