OBITUARY.
MR. JOHN CLARK. POPULAR BOWING SUPPORTER. An enthusiastic supporter of rowing in Auckland, Mr. John Clark, has died at his residence, Caroline Street, Ponsonby. in his seventy-sixth year. He was managing director of the firm of Clark and Matheson, Ltd., printers, and was a well-known figure in business and sporting circles ill Auckland for many years. At one time during his rowing career Mr. Clark was captain of the West End Rowing Club, and had held the positions of vice-president and president. He was also a life member of the club and the donor of many trophies. He was an expresident of the Auckland. Rowing Association, as well as president of the New Zealand body. For many years Mr. Clark had been associated with the Manchester Unity Oddfellows, and was a past grandmaster of the New Zealand branch of the Order. He was also interested in the Rotary movement, and had been a member and national correspondent of the Auckland branch. Last year lie was a member of the board of directors. Mrs. Clark died 21 years ago, and Mr. Clark is- survived by a grown-up family of three daughters and three sons. j
