AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY.
PROGRESS AT RODNEY. (From Our Own Correspondent.) WARKWORTH, Wednesday. There was a large attendance of members at the annual meeting of tlie Bodney Agricultural Society, held in the Oddfellows' Hall. Mr. S. J. Barker presided. The balance-sheet showed that a profit of £35 had been made on the last show and that a profit of £33 had been made on the year's working. Assets exceeded liabilities by £292. Members expressed satisfaction with the improved position and congratulated the secretory, Mr. D. W. Knaggs, on the satisfactory state of affairs. Officers elected were:—Patron. Mr. J. G. Barclay, M.P.; president, Mr. Chas. Rumsby; vice-president, Mr. Theo. Edwards; chairman, Mr. Cyril Carran; deputy-chairman, Mr. R. E. Henderson; auditor, Mr. J. P. Smytheman. An executive committee comprising 20 members was also elected.
A letter from Mr. Knaggs resigning his post as secretary was received with regret.
Some discussion took place regarding the advisability of increasing the prize money and it was resolved to request the chief stewards of each section to submit suggestions and to provide an estimate of the additional amount required.,
It' was announced that the society's next show would be held on February 6.
