MATCH AT HUNTLY.
TOURING ENGLISHMEN.
FORWARDS PLAY AS BACKS.

HUNTLY, this day.
L The weatlier is showery for the match between the English League football team ancl South Auckland at Huntly to-day, but tlie ground is in good order. A large attendance is anticipated, many visitors' arriving from other districts.
The Englishmen stayed at Hamilton overnight, and this morning were welcomed by Princess Tjx Puea at Ngaruawahia. They received a civic welcome at Huntly Town Hall, when the Mayor, Mr. W. G. George, read a message of welcome from King Koroki, and added that Huntly had more Home people to the square yard than any other part of New Zealand. The tourists were also welcomed by Mr. T. Hill, president of the South Auckland Rugby League.
The English team for the match is: — Full-back: Brougli. Three-quarters: Morley, Davies, Exley, Edwards. Halves: Ellerington, Brogden. Forwards: Fields, Woods, Troup, Hodgson, Arkwriglit, Beverley. Owing to injuries and the necessity of fielding the best team for the Test match on Saturday, two forwards have been included in the back division to-day. The South Auckland team is:— Full-back: L. Powell (Huntly). Three-quarters: T. Tukere (Huntly South), M. Goodwin (Ngaruawahia), H. Taoho (Huntly South). Five-eighths: W. Miki (Huntly South), R. Tukere (Huntfy South). Ilalf-bnek: R. Shaw (Huntly). Forwards: J. Brook, McGilp, J. O. Brien, M. Scott, T. Tiuims (Huntly), R. McGreal (Ngaruawahia). Reserves. —Backs: T. Shaw (Taupiri), D. Pitt (Pukemiro). Forwards: G. Beadle (Huntly), R, Hyde (Ngaruawahia). Mr. R. F. Anderton, manager of the English team, stated that no reply had yet been received from England regarding the proposal to play a match against a Maori team. Ml\ P. Rogers has been selected as referee for the Test match on Saturday.
