ROAD IN WAITAKERES.
GOVERNMENT UNDERTAKING
SPLENDID SCENIC DRIVE.

In the new schedule of public works, involving £2,700,C00, Ihe Waitakere ridgeway road is to be included, according to a statement made to-day by the Minister of Public Works, the Hon. R. Semple. The work will cost approximately £95,000, of which Mr. Semple considers the local bodies concerned should contribute about £14,000.
• Negotiations, lie said to-day, had not yet been finalised, but he expected to have the work commenced in the near future. It would employ 200 men.
"When finished the road will be 0110 of the finest scenic drives in the Auckland Province," said the Minister.
