Though played at a fast pace the game for tile most part was not inspiring and the standard of hockev played b.v both sides was disappointing. WAIPA V. TARANAKI,

The Waipa Hockey Association has received notification of acceptance of an invitation for the Taranaki ladies' representative touring eleven to play Waipa at Te Awamutu on August 22. Efforts aie now being made to secure a visit from Walkato B ladies for a match on the same day, also at Te Awamutu.

TAURANGA ASSOCIATION.

The Tauranga Hockey Association's Merriweather Cup competition wan continued yesterday, when Veterans defeated True Blues by 4 goals to 2. Scores for the winners were made by Minifle (3) and Dinsdale, and for the losers by Olseu.
