PREPARING FOR WAR.
I Germany's Armoured Cars and Aeroplanes. UNHAPPINESS IN BALKANS. (Received 12 noon.) BRISBANE, this day. Mr. G. S. Jones, of New Zealand, who arrived in Brisbane by air liner after a five months' tour of England and the Continent, stated that in Germany he saw three miles of armoured cars on each side of a railway line, and at the Zeppelin works 200 war 'planes were being tested. Feelings of mistrust and hatred existed between most of the countries. Everywhere in the Balkans people lived under extremely bad conditions.
FOR NON-ARYANS. APPEAL TO THE LEAGUE. (Received 12 noon.) GENEVA, August 4. Eight American and French organisations have appealed for the League of Nations' friendly intervention with Germany on behalf of persecuted Jews and non-Aryans.
