RIDGE ROAD.
WAITAKERE SCHEME. UNANIMOUS SUPPORT. MOUNT EDEN ATTITUDE. ' The Mount Eden Borough Council decided last evening to give unanimous support to the proposal to build a ridge , scenic road on the Waitakere Ranges. I The Mayor, Mr. T. McXab, said that the Mount Eden iliare of the cost would be £SOO to £850, and that Mount Albert , Borough liad made a great offer. The scheme would provide three years' work, and would be a wonderful asset. Mr. J. A. BeaTe said that he could not , take up the same enthusiastic attitude, | and he considered that the best scheme | would j be a concrete road out to the ] West Coast. There was something to be said for the ridge.road proposal, but the greater scheme was being missed, j The Mayor said that an advantage of the ridge road was that wonderful views 1 would be obtainable, and the scheme was deserving of every support. I The motion to give support was then ' carried.
