METROPOLITAN PLAN, i ESSENTIAL SERVICES. SUPPORT AT MOUNT EDEN.
Support for the metropolitan committee plan which was recently outlined by the Mayor of Auckland, Mr. Ernest Davis, was given at a meeting of the Mount Eden Borough Council last evening. The Mayor, Mr. T. McXab, said that the object was to refer to .the committee various matters of metropolitan interest and he was convinced that at the finish the committee would have charge of all the essential services and be a sort of over-riding board. A Councillor: Water, too! The Mayor: Yes Another Councillor: It has got to come. The Mayor predicted that in twelve months they would see that the troubles over water and other things would be wiped out. The Mayor was appointed to be the Mount Eden representative 011 the Metropolitan Committee.
