INJURED CYCLIST.
SEQUEL TO ACCIDENT. D Ail AGES AWARDED BY JURY. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WANGANUI, Tuesday. In the Supreme Court to-day before ill". Justice Ostler, a jury awarded £1300 as general damages and £140 19/ as special damages to Frank Dempster, aged 36, married, who, when cycling last December, was injured by a motor car owned by Mary Campbell Bridges. Plaiutiff claimed £1500 as general damages and. tlie special damages mentioned. His right hand suffered permanent partial disablement as a result of the accident. Counsel for defendant objected to the claim solely on the amount of the damages. Negligence was admitted, ana also the special damages, but it was contended that the claim for general damages was inflated.
