The condition of Mr. Walter Robert Wells, single, of Pilkington Road, Panmure, who was knocked down by a motor car at Ellerslie at midday yesterday, is not considered serious. He is in the Auckland Hospital. The famous statue of Venus de Milo is to appear shortly on a Greek postage stamp. This issue will be part of a new series designed to represent various stages of Greek history both ancient an<l modern. The low value stamps will show the four types of ancient Grecian columns—the Minoan, the Doric, the lonic and the Corinthian. The one drachma (approximately Jd) stamps will show Achilles dragging the body of Hector round the walls of Troy. The Venus de Milo stamp will be worth seven drachmas (about 3d).
