WANGANUI TRACK
SOME PROMISING YOUNGSTERS ENTAIL DOING NICELY. W. Dwyer, who has been ]aid aside with illness for a month, is about again. He has put Hamarin into work once more and she looks well after her spell. The Arausio —Marion's Birthday filly, in the same stable, has grown a lot and is furnishing into a fine-looking sort. Owing to her trainer's illness she has had a break j in her preparation, and consequently she may not be ready for the Wanganui meeting. . „ ... H. W. Johnston is well satisfied with the way Baron Bold (by Bold Baron) is progressing. He is a well-grown youngster and is built on racing lines. He should prove useful in two-year-old events. The Kiosk gelding who is in the same stable will race under the name- of Bar 1" kino. He will rank as a three-year-old from to-day. , .. W. Rayner is beginning to send his charges along a bit. On Thursday morning Spiral and Imposture were companions in a half-mile spin. Both hit out nicely and finished together in 51 3-5s without being ridden out. All going well in the interim it is more than likely that Imposture will carry Mr. Currie's colours in the Wanganui Guineas, though Moquette is also shaping in promising style and looks like proving more solid than she was as a two-year-old. Entail h'as built up nicely since he came in again, and he is bowling along in good style. If the son of Posterity goes on all right he should win some good handicap events this season and play his part in weight-for-age races. .
