CROQUET CLUBS.

MOUNT HOBSON. For the closing of the season, the Mount Ilobson Croquet Club had ideal weather, when a large number of members and honorary members played progressive croquet. The president, Mrs. D. Harvey, presented trophies to the winners, Mesdames Williams, Hilton, McDonald and Lancaster. Afternoon tea was served in the pavilion. Among those present were: Mesdames Harvey, Guthrie, Harbutt, Wilson, Williams, Clark, McKelvie, Badeley, Worthington, Sommerville, Hood, Mark, Hilton, McDonald, Torrance, Edgar, Culpan, Carter, Sawyer, Jackson, Somervell, Eaves, Matthews, Tongue, Lancaster, Rugg, Phelps, Hodge, Newell, Linehan, Donaldson and Misses Bowden and Teape. NORTH SHORE. The end-of-season and annual presentation of prizes was held by the North Shore Croquet Club last week-end at the club's lawns. The president, Mrs. M. Erickson, introduced the Mayoress, Mrs. H. F. W. Meikle, who presented the prizes won during the year. Prize winners were:—AA championship, Mrs. F. W. Beck; runner-up, Mrs. W. Cotes; AA handicap singles, Mrs. W. B. Watson; runner-lip, Mrs. V. Brooks; A handicap singles, Mrs. V. Brooks; runnerup, Mrs. F. Mason; AA championship doubles, Mesdames M. T. Macdonald and A. Bartley; runners-up, Mesdames E. P. Flinn and W. J. Elliott; B' championship, Miss G. S. Ardley; run-ner-up, Mrs. L. Cooper; B handicap singles, Mrs. G. Spence; runner-up, Mrs. W. Hodgson; B doubles, Mesdames A. C. Harty and W. Hodgson; runners-up, Mesdames C. Buchanan and G. Spence; seven bisques, Mrs. G. Spence; runnerup, Mrs. G. S. Ardley; A trophy, Mrs. A. Bartley.

CARLTON. At the annual' meeting of the Carlton Croquet Club, held in the club's pavilion on Tuesday, the president, Mrs. Hamilton, presided. The annual report and balance-sheet disclosed a satisfactory financial and social position. The election of officers resulted as follows: — President, Mrs. Hamilton; vice-presi-dents, Mesdames Bridges, Laurie, Perry, Shields; honorary secretary, Mrs. Dukes; treasurer, Mrs. T. Wilson; match committee, Mesdames Baker, Bridges, Perry, Schubert and Miss Keatley; general committee, Mesdames Hollay, Savin, Staunton and Wilson; tea committee, members of the club, with Mrs. .Allsopp as convener; green committee, Mesdames Buckle, Hamilton and Tomlin; card committee, Mrs. Dukes, with members of the match committee; delegates to the Auckland Association, Mesdames Dukes, Hamilton and Miss Keatley. Trophies were presented to the following successful players by Mrs. Hamilton:—A championship singles, Mrs. Baker; runner-up, Schubert; A handicap singles, Mrs. Baker; runner-up, Mrs. Cole; A and B doubles, Miss Keatley and Mrs. Cole; runners-up, Mesdames and Staunton; B championship, Mrs. Jones; runner-up, Mrs. Goodison.

MALVERN. An enjoyable At Home was given by the president, Mrs. Young, to the members of the Malvern Croquet Club. Progressive croquet was played and the prizes were won by Mesdames Harris, Eandrup and Jliekelborougli (A's), and Mesdames McCullough, Tremain and Jouning (B's). Afternoon tea was served by the Misses Young and East, when a bouquet of flowers in the club's onlours was presented to the president by the members. Those present were:-Mesdames Chambers, Harris, McAneny, Aughton, Mickelborough, Jury, Firth, Kingdom, Dent, McCullough, Johnston, Tremain, Hemus, Delugar, Burns, Jouning, Whelan, Eandrup and Miss Christmas.
