PENWOMEN'S CLUB.
An interesting and varied programme was presented in the Penwomen's Club rooms on Monday evening under the direction of Maisie • Carte Lloyd. Outstanding items rendered were "The Cap That Fits" (Austin Dobson), the players being Misses Betty Parkes, Billy Bingham and Frances Cole; "The First Quarrel," a sketch by Teas Carte Lloyd; "The Mermaid," by Vickers Steele; •'"Trineulo," by Roewyn Steele; "Isaacstein the Grocer," by Bruce McKinney; "Typo at the Play," by Alice McKellar. Noreen and Jimmy Peck gave humorous dialogues and dances were given by Patty Curran. Others who contributed to the success of the programme were: Misses Shirley Joseph, Ruth Costin, Alwyn Smith, Beryl and Pat Johnson, Patty Norman, Dorothy Munro, June Caldwell, Olga Hansen, Valmai Lasslett, June and Maria Davidson, Helen Burton, Frances Tato and Shirley Wood. "Just a Little Bit of Life," a one-act play, was presented by the Penwomcn Players. Mrs. Carte Lloyd received a sheaf of Christmas lilies and the performers were awarded their British Empire Shakespeare certificates.
