ST. JOHN AMBULANCE.

NURSING DIVISION PICNIC,

As a pleasant final meeting of the Nursing Division in the Auckland Corps, St. John Ambulance Brigade, a picnic was arranged last Saturday by the lady corps superintendent, Mrs. E. Cammell, at her summer cottage, "The Crest," in the Titirangi ranges.

Heavy showers fell early in the afternoon, but later the weather cleared and the guests were able to admire the magnificent views and to wander in the garden, which was gay with flowers. Mrs. Cammell had planned two treasure hunts and the searching for clues along the lanes and through the bush tracks provided much enjoyment. The visitors also enjoyed seeing the lily ponds and ferns in the beautiful grounds of Kauri Lodge, which the owner, Mr. Pascoe, had kindly thrown open for their inspection. All the members were pleased to have the company of District Officer U. Hitchon. Afternoon tea was served indoors and brought to a close a very enjoyable outing.
