TRUCK DRIVER'S OFFENCE.
LONG TRIP BUT NO LICENSE. "Please find enclosed £2 to pay my fine. I have never been in Court before," stated Frank Boyle in a letter to the clerk of the Court at Papakura. Mr. T. C. Cliseold, Main Highways traffic inspector, said defendant took a heavy load of furniture from fapatoetoe to; Motohora, near Gisborne, on September 14, a trip of 340 miles, without having a heavy traffic license. The magistrate, Mr. F. H. Levien, S.M.: How did he hope to get all that way without being caught? The inspector: It's worth a risk, eir; the license would cost £7 13/. "Well, he'll be fined 70/ and costs 12/," said the magistrate.
