RUMOURS OF AMENDMENTS. ACCOUNTANTS MAKE REQUEST. (By Telegraph.—rross Association.! WELLINGTON, Saturday. In view of rumours to the effect that a bill would be brought in this session embodying amendments to the Companies Act in accordance with rccoiumendatioiis of the commission of inquiry, the executive of the New Zealand Society of Accountants lias submitted a request to the Prime Minister, Mr. Forbes, that 110 legislative action iu tlio direction contemplated in the commission's report be taken until the proposed amendments have been considered by the advisory committee which was previously set up to assist in the drafting of the Act. Meanwhile the council of the society is considering constructive repotts o branches 011 the commission's recommendations. Wellington members of the council and the secretary of tlic society, Mr. D. C. Johnston, have been appointed a committee to take any action which may be deemed necessary.
