BLUE TEA AFTERNOON.
Mrs. R. V. Shepherd entertained a number of guests at her residence at Mount Roskill recently, at a linen shower given for Miss Catherine Reid, whoso marriage will take place shortly. The function took the form of a blue tea, the floral decorations being carried out in shades of blue. Many attractive gifts wcro received, and these also were in tones of blue. Mrs. Shepherd received her guests wearing a frock of Wedgwood blue kordalette. She was assisted in her duties as hostess by her sister-in-law, Mrs. J. H. Ironside, who wore golden-brown checked ring velvet. The guest of honour chose a tunic frock of Harris tweed. Mrs. Shepherd and Mrs. L. Watters played a piano duet, and Mrs. Watters rendered a solo. Songs by Miss M. Green were much appreciated. Miss Reid, who is well-known in Auckland dancing circles, gave a national number. Amongst the guests were: Mesdames G. Reid, C. E. McGill, T. Mahony, B. Connery, J. Bullen, Mcßride, L. Watters, Misses A. Paul, A. Patterson, M. Green, M. Rcardon.
