ACTIVITY AT DUNEDIN. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) DUNEDIN, this day. Conditions in the local building trade at the present give rise to greater optimism than has been the case since tho beginning of the depression five years ago. Extensive additions to various industrial undertakings are now being planned and executed, while home building is also being proceeded with more confidently. I'lie value of building permits issued by the rcity building surveyor during September amounted to £55,439, a figure which-represents the highest monthly total since the . end of 1929. These figjires show a tremendous rise on the preceding months and a striking advance on last year.
