BOY GYMNASTS.

KING'S OLD BOYS' CLASSES. ANNUAL COMPETITION WINNERS. A high standard of efficiency, together with a fine spirit of friendly rivalry, was revealed at All Saints' Hall, Ponsonby, last evening, when the representatives of the five gymnasiums conducted in the city and suburbs by the King's College Old Roys' Gymnastic Association competed for the Priston Shield, a trophy made and presented by an old boy oft, the rollegc. About fifty boys competed, and there was a good attendance of parents and friends. The All Saints' team, with 1180 point*, won the shield. St. George's, Epsom, being second with 980 points, and Bercsford Street Congregational Church third with 877 points. The instructor of the winning team was Mr. J. E. T. Palmer, whose brother, Mr. C. G. Palmer, founded the association several years "2°- j Mr. V. F. Maxwell, a master of King's College, acted as judge. The exercises were carried out on Roman rings, horizontal bar, parallel bars, the horse, while tumbling was also an issue. J'lie All Saints' team was the more experienced, and the standard the team set was very high, this being remarked upon by Mr. C. T. Major, actingheadmaster of King's Preparatory School and a former headmaster of King's College, who presented the shield to the winning team. A tribute to the help given the association each year by Mr. Maxwell, and also to the work of the various instructors, was paid by Mr. 0. G. Palmer.
