RADIO BEACON.

PLANS FOR AUSTRALIA. (Received 10 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. It is reported that Amalgamated Wireless, Limited, is negotiating for a site in the vicinity of Mascot aerodrome to install at its own expense the first aerial radio beacon ill Australia, having a range of 100 miles and able to give direction to aircraft. The beacon will be equipped with the usual receiving apparatus or radio telephone apparatus. Tlio Civil Aviation Department is co-operating in the selection of a suitable site.
