FURTHER RELIEF.

HAMILTON WILL CASE,

WIDOW'S INCOME INCREASED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, Thursday. Further relief was granted by Mr. Justice Callan in a reserved judgment delivered in the Supreme Court to-day to the widow, eldest son and daughter of the late James Thomas Hawke, a wealthy retired tea planter, of Hamilton, who died on September 2, 1933, at the age of 83 years and left an estate valued at between £90,000 and £100,000.

At the last session of the Supreme Court here an originating summons was brought by the widow, Magdalene Aloysius Hawke, the eldest son, Anthony Terence James Hawke, a farm hand, of Hamilton, and two daughters, Marie Aurellie Hawke and Muriel Agnes Hawke, with the object of securing further relief. Among the defendants was the Roman Catholic hierarchy, to whom the testator left one-tenth of his income and of his capital as it became available. The income of the other nine-tenths was divided equally among the widow and nine children. The claims were made under the Family Protection Act.

In his judgment his Honor made orders increasing the widow's personal income to £20 weekly and providing for an advance of £1000 to Antlionv Terence James Hawke, to be applied in stocking a farm which is part of the estate. Another order was made increasing the eldest daughter's share of income to £8 weekly. No order was made respecting the other daughter. The orders date from September 2, 1935. The payments already made to the hierarchv will not he disturbed. •
