VISIT TO ORPHANAGES.
DR. DICKIE'S BUSY DAY.
The Rev. Dr. J. Dickie, Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in New Zealand, ,was occupied this afternoon on a round of calls of the Presbyterian orphanages and in viewing other phases of the Church's social service work. Accompanied by the Rev. Thomas Halliday, of Mount Eden, he visited first the headquarters of Sister Esther's benevolent work in Picton Street, going from there to another branch of guild benevolent activity at Edinburgh Central Hall, with its equipment for the entertainment of youth. i The Avoca accommodation home for men at St. George's Bay Road was the next calling place and from there the Moderator visited the Onehunga Home and the Leslie Home at Meadowbank.
At each Dr. Dickie expressed his pleasure at the work that was being carried on.-
