EARLY MORNING FIRE.
SLIGHT DAMAGE CAUSED.
A prompt Vespousc to a call from an .ilarm .box prevented • fire which broke out early this morning at 251, New North Road from doing serious damage. The building is a wooden one of two storeys, owned by Mr. 11. G. Cabc and occupied by Messrs. Prentice and Company, brass founders. The alarm was received at 5.12 this morning, and a brigade from each of the Central and Mount Albert stations wae gent out. Part of the ceiling, wall lining and floorboards were found to be damaged. The cause of the fire is not known.
The contents of the building were insured for £.300 in the South British Company.
