On Saturday night a number of young people were entertained at a, party at the Peter Pan Cabaret given by Mr. and Mrs.. T. Tudhopo, of Eemuera, for their daughter Nell. Mrs. Tudhope received the guests in .<. black lace frock with a long wrap of gold lame; Miss Nell Tudhope's frock was of silver lame, the train being lined with pale pink. Amongst those present were: Misses N. Tudhope, Ethel Hammor-i, Margaret McArthur, Mcry Somers, Vera Dewing, Bobbie Marriner, Ethel Mappin, Maud Bailey, Val Pope, June Vickerman, W. Chatfleld, Jean Milne, G. Gifford, Hermoine O'Reilly and Kita Taylor. • • • •

An enjoyable luncheon party was given by Miss A. Bagley at the Lyceum Club yesterday in honour of Miss Rees, matron-in-chief of the nursing services in Southern Rhodesia. Among the guests were Mrs. W. H. Parkes, president of the club, Mrs. C. Moses, Miss Mary 13agley, Miss Rennell, Miss Oppenheinier, Miss Mirams and Mrs. Haresnape. During her stay in Auckland Miss Eees had visited various hospitals and been entertained by members of the nursing profession. -On Sunday afternoon she was taken for a motor drive to Titirangi and entertained at afternoon tea by the president and members of the council of the Auckland branch of thh New Zealand Registered Nurses' Association. Among those present were: Mrs. Tracy Inglie, Dr. Gladys Montgomery, Mrs. A. M. Haresnape, Miss Inglis, Miss Jackson, Miss Mirams, and the Misses A. and >M. Bagley. Miss Ttees left by the Aorangi last evening for Australia.

Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Fleming, of Takanini, on Saturday evening entertained a number of guests in honour of the occasion of their daughter Marjoric's twentyfirst birthday. The Takanini Hall was gaily decorated for the occasion, and a very enjoyable evening was spent by a large number of guests, orchestral and other items being a feature of the evening. Mrs. Fleming received her guests wearing a charming frock of black georgette relieved with diamente, Miss Marjorie Fleming, the guest of honour, wearing a dainty model gown of parchment satin. Miss Molly Fleming chose a 'cherry blossom georgette frock with sequin trimmings, while Miss Joy Fleming wore pale pink marocain. Among others present were: Mesdames Cameron, J. Clark, M. Fleming, A.
