ANIMAL WELFARE.
COMMITTEES MEET. Last evening, at a combined meeting of the twcr committees, the ladies of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals extended a warm welcome to the incoming members of the Animal Welfare Association. Mrs. B. J. Marquet said it gave her great pleasure to occupy the chair that evening to welcome back into the ranks of the S.P.C.A. veteran workers. They knew what the A.W.A. had accomplished as a separate body, but where there was unity there was strength, and the result of the amalgamation would be the building of a solid foundation for the future Work of the S.P.C.A. Mrs. Spencer Mason, on behalf of the Animal Welfare Association, thanked Mrs. Marquet for her kind words of welcome. They all admired the way the. S.P.C.A. had thrown its energies into the work of rebuilding the- society, and she looked forward to a happy time and much workbeing done by the joint committees.
