The record boxing tournament of Sacred Heart College, Tor wiilcU 124 entries were received, terminated at Richmond ltond Inst night, when the semi-final nnd llnal bouts were staged. House points pained wore :—Pnrapalller 153, Basil 138, Lenihan 100. Coolalian S. r >. Total house points for nil sports decided to date:—Pompallier 700, Coolalian 759, Basil 704, I.enihui 600. In the final of the light-weight competition for the T. Molloy Memorial Medal. B. Barrett, Pompallier House defeated 1 , . McSweeney, Coolalian. An exhibition l>out was given during the evening by J. Bakalicli, tin old hoy of the college and present amateur wtlter-weight champion of Auckland, and P. Sheehtin, the unopposed htavy-wclglit title holder of the college. Sheehan u'ii"e a showing against his more experienced c-pi-onent. The officials were:—Referee, Mr. P. Burns; announcer, Mr. \V. Donovan; timekeepers. Messrs. T. Finer, G. Bush : instructor, Mr. 11. Donovan ; organiser, Bro. Paschal. Mr. K. Kugg (president) and members of the Auckland Boxing Association were present. The association, which has assisted in the control of the collepe tournaments over the past 20 years, loaned the ring and other iifcuKSiiry equijinienr.
The director of the college, Brother Tarcisius, expressed appreciation of the assistance given by the Auckland Boxing Association. lie paid a tribute to the fine work performed by cue instructor, Mr. 11. HUTCHINS BEATS JAGGERS.
(By Telegrnpll —l'ress Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, this day. Frank Hutchine (Elthain) defeated Twist Jaggera (Wellington) on points in a professional boxing match at Elthain last night. It was a solid fight in which both displayed a capacity for giving and taking heavy punishment. Both were lit at the cud.
