SCHOOLMASTER HERO.
LATE MR. FRANK WIjLKS
I "He was a hero" was the tribute paid > by Mr. C. R. Munro to the late Mr. Frank ' Wilks, headmaster at the Warkworth District High School, whose death was ) reported to the Auckland Education . Board this morning. It was stated that . j Mr. Wilks had given able service for ! 2C years and that his death at the age • .' of 48 years was due to war injuries. Mr. Munro said that he had seen Mr. Wilks on many occasions "tottering" ' clown to Remuera School on two sticks. He was often in such great pain that ]m could not sit down. He would then ' prop himself against a desk to teach a ! class of .30 boys, "and do it well." The board decided to send a letter of I sympathy to Mr. Wilka , relatives.
