AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION.
POVERTY BAY HERE SATURDAY
At laet night's meeting of the Auckland Hockey Association Messrs. H. E. Watte and -E. J. Hewitt were appointed umpires for the New Zealand Shield challenge between Auckland and Poverty Bay, to be played at Remuera on Saturday. Mr. E. Neweham was appointed manager of the Auckland team, and Eric Watts captain. On the recommendation of Mr. Rex Mooro it. was decided to arrange for a junior representative team to visit Cambridge on August 31, and for an Auckland team to travel to Waiuku on the same date.
The Waikato junior team ie to play an Auckland team on August 31 as a curtain-raiser to the Auckland-Waikato shield fixture.
The Grammar Old Boys' Club was given permission to travel to Whangarei on August 31. The'Somerville second grade team was granted permission to travel to Waihi on August 17. R. lllingworth, of the Mount Eden Club, was rcgraded from senior to third grade. It was resolved to make a donation of £2 2/ to the Ladiee' Association toward the cost of sending the Auckland team to Gisborne to compete in the New Zealand tourney.
